The stray dog Laika was the first living creature to be sent into space - and thus to certain death. According to legend, she returned to Earth as a ghost and has been roaming the streets of Moscow ever since. Following in Laika's footsteps and filmed from the dogs' perspective, 'Space Dogs' follows the adventures of her descendants: two street dogs in present-day Moscow. Their story is one of close allegiance, relentless brutality and ultimately their view of us humans. Interwoven with previously unreleased footage from the Soviet space era, a magical narrative about the Moscow street dogs is formed - from their ascent into space to life on the ground.
