Sailors and world travelers went across the sea and discovered foreign worlds and continents - but also the dark and untamable side of the sea. But not only "the good" came across the oceans; historical passages to new shores are associated with colonization, conquest, exploitation and subjugation. Today, the mighty habitat of life and desire is itself threatened by global warming, and with it numerous species and their habitats. But only healthy, species-rich seas are able to maintain their stabilizing effect on the climate. A conscious, respectful and careful approach to the oceans is essential for this.
